...And The Gadgets Go Marching In

Oh yes, the holidays are coming... The BER months are here and there's a cool breeze in the air. It's also at this time of year where there's a galore of product launches specially gadgets.

There's a new line of iPods, laptops and netbooks, Nintendo DSi, PSP 3000, Intel Core i7, Windows 7 (to be launched 2009), and an army of new cellphone models to start with.

Consumers now have a wide range of choices to spend their hard earned money (yes it's you 13th month pay we are talking about). Just 5 months ago my EEE PC netbook was priced at 12,000 pesos. Now you can get it for a little less than 10k. Neat huh?!

In the case of gadgets, patience is always a virtue. Newly launched gadgets are naturally expensive during the 1st 3 months. If you want to purchase a gadget at a decent amount, it's best to wait a little. But hey, if you've got money to spend, then go for it. It's rare for a gadget to withstand price drops. Actually, it's only Nokia's N95 cellphone that's still at an average selling price of 20k pesos.

When buying one this holiday season, always take time to review the product by reading product reviews and forums found on the internet. There's a lot of information out there to consider. I believe we don't have to be technical. It's a matter of asking the questions and getting the facts right instead of taking opinions from sales agents as hard truth. It's your money to spend so you deserve to know. Never buy gadgets at impulse.

Enjoy shopping.
